This was John and Sally French's bedroom. Descendants of the French family not only donated items back, but they also helped establish the home's layout and shared stories of the French family. Homes were not built with closets back then because they only had a few pairs of clothing. The few things they did own were hung on wall pegs, and stored in trunks, chests, or armoires. They wore the same handmade clothing over and over, often going weeks without washing their clothes!
